October Public Square Rosaries
On September 15th, the Feast of Our Lady of
Sorrows, Bishop Paul Swain celebrated a Mass of Healing for Victims of Abuse. In his homily he said that we must gather to pray for healing and forgiveness, because too often the innocent victims of abuse are forgotten, amidst the turmoil of Church politics and the media frenzy that accompanies them. With 2018's Public Square Rosaries we answer our Bishop's call to join him in praying for healing for these victims. We must also remember to pray for our clergy, the majority of whom have remained faithful to their calling, that they may be strengthened by His love for them, and do whatever is necessary to protect the innocent from abuse.

October is the Month of the Rosary. Each year, the Knights of Columbus and the Legion of Mary, working with the Office of the Marian Apostolate for the Diocese of Sioux Falls, organize a month of Public Square Rosaries. Our goal is to pray the rosary in a public gathering, in a public space, every day in October. There is no better way to celebrate the religious freedoms we enjoy as Americans than the beauty and simplicity of the Most Holy Rosary.
